Set on five floors, Omnitracs’ sophisticated 106,612 square foot office located in downtown Dallas, serves as the new headquarters for over 500 employees. A new direction from their previous San Diego location, this fast-paced and transformative company sought a timeless yet openly collaborative design aesthetic in order to help promote inter-connectivity and transparency to their workers. When entering the space, visitors immediately see a sculptural monumental stair connecting the 13th and 14th floors. Beyond, sits a weathered steel-clad reception desk in front of an expansive, layered wood wall. The space incorporates a subtle blend of raw and refined elements, connecting the business and industrial sides of the industry. Polished concrete floors, industrial metals, and unfinished ceilings are softened by warm textures and vibrant pops of color. To create continuity, each level features a similar floor plan with gathering spaces centrally located such as a coffee bar that serves as a touchdown space for staff. Open workstations, lounge spaces, huddle rooms and immense walls of marker board encourage teamwork and collaboration. The “Pit Stop”, an expansive lounge space, is divided into three main zones: a gaming area, break room (“The Filling Station”) with a high-top bar and picnic tables, and an enclosed collaborative lounge with soft seating for a more quite atmosphere. In addition, a variety of branding elements have been utilized to reflect Omnitracs’ heritage and mission to serve the transportation industry, creating a unique energy that permeates throughout the office.
